Happ-Bee Halloween

Here's what I've decided: Halloween is fun when you're a kid, and when you have kids, but that's about it. Case in point: After the age of 12, we were no longer allowed to go trick-or-treating in our household, even if we could pull off looking like we were 12 up until we were 16. Thanks mom and dad. In fact, some of us in said household didn't even get to go when we were 12 because Halloween just happened to fall on a Sunday that year. Was there a "make-up" Halloween? No. Thanks again to the parentals for that one :) So after age 11, it really hasn't been too exciting for me. My first Halloween here in Utah was spent cleaning, and trying to cheer up a certain depressed Russian roommate. I rocked at the cleaning....but ended up going to bed before the depression was gone from the roommate (no worries--- she woke up the next morning--- alive and everything). Last year, my second year out here, was spent with my husband, at my sister's house, for a Rockin' 2008 Halloween Party. Allow me to expan with a definition: Rockin' 2008 Halloween Party: Michael Jackson's "Thriller" music-video on repeat...all...night...long. Scary? Yes--- definitely. Rockin'....possibly. Party? I fell asleep.

This year I have looked forward to Halloween, like never before....because I have my very own (well...shared I guess)... baby to dress-up--- and dress up we did! Thank you Smith's Marketplace for your 40% baby costumes sale. Thank you dear Andy for making $17.00 for us to put towards the cheap (monetarily speaking) costume. And thank you Reagan- for taking a break from your screaming long enough for us to fake like you were having a good night :)

Can you see the stinger?

I like big butts...and I cannot lie :)

The nose is a blend of eye-liner, and sweet potatotes.

Literally, cutest baby alive. That's right Elise and Carrie....cutest baby ever!!! :)

HAPP-BEE HALLOWEEN!!!

*More Halloween festivities to follow....if I can get them up in the next few days....let's be honest....it'll probably be in the next few months.

It's Been a While...

So--- after a lot....A LOT... of complaints from a few who will remain unnamed, I decided to do a little update-if for no other reason than to inform people that yes, we are still alive. Some of us a little more than others :)

There have been a few events that have occurred since December- I will list a few (in no particular order):

We discovered Cafe Fresh

I quit my job...and found the meaning of life

Andy celebrated #22 Birthday at Chuck E Cheese....way to go back to the roots on that one :)

We discovered Cafe Fresh (amazing)

Andy got a job at JC Penney in Salt Lake....only after

Andy graduated from UVU

We have a black President....Balack Obama

Aaron came off the Mish....and is adjusting nicely (I was worried for a bit)

I celebrated Birthday #24 at Liberty Land... (I'm only a year and a half older than Andy....)

New dating show on TV--- "The Cougar"---- they wanted me to be "The Cougar"----too bad I was already married. (Seriously...too bad) Kidding!

We bought a house....I miss having a landlord...

Our house sprang a leak....who knew leaks cost thousands of dollars....

Valentine's Day--- First one married-- I was in Utah- He was in Wisconsin....is that a bad sign?

Economy goes downhill shortly after I quit. Coincidence? I think not.

Richin's move to Florida. Who are the Richins? It's hard to say....it's been a while. I hope they didn't get eaten by alligators. (But if they did they can't say they weren't warned)

We celebrated our first Anniversary!!! (Together)

Oh yes-----amd REAGAN came :) Finally.

She's pretty much the most amazing little girl in the world.

Pre-Christmas Festivities

The Beginning...

Sometimes he really likes to work hard...

And sometimes he really likes me....

I like that his is almost done and mine is still in pieces... I work better under pressure

Apparently this was serious stuff...

It's actually a lot harder than it looks...(and yes... our Christmas tree is 3-feet tall... sad day)

My dad is a general contractor... what can I say....

Done :)
Pre-Me knocking it down...

Front Side.... (the door actually opens and closes... and there's a doorbell that makes a sound...okay not really :)

The walk way....

He's still working hard....

Back Side...

The crack in the side is so you don't have to pay for air conditioning...

I broke his roof..... I tried to put the A on it.... it didn't work out so well....

The End....

The homes we will provide for our kids...I guess shacks are okay too :)

We were going to have a little get to gether at our house Friday night.... but Andy found out he had strep and we cancelled. Rather than subject everyone else to the illness....he decided to just expose our baby and me. Good thing I have a superior immune system :)
So we decided to make gingerbread houses instead--- I can honestly say this is the first one I've ever completed--- last year we did a combined effort and made a garbage dump with a little tractor... this year we tried to be more creative... well... some of us did :)

Another Month... Another Pant Size....

Andy--- 5 1/2 Months

Steph- 5 1/2 Months

Actually not really, on account that I wont go buy more pants just yet. I like the whole not buttoning or zipping of the ones I currently own--- especially now that I can play a really fun game with my coworkers (they just don't know it). It's called "Will they or won't they get flashed today?" It's actually quite fun and requires a lot of skill and concentration, especially when walking. I always did like to multi-task.
But yes-- it has been a month (and a half) since we last posted a blog-- and while I haven't been nagged, I thought I should be more proactive... consider it my pre-New Year's resolution (which is nice because it expires on New Year's Day). Technically we are six months tomorrow, but the pictures are from five and a half months--- so if you're curious to know what six months looks like.... add another chin, and make the screen on your computer a little wider. Okay- so maybe it's not that bad.. but sometimes it feels like it!

This last month has again, flown by. Andy was buys with finals last week, and did incredibly well in all of his classes. He definitely doesn't give himself the credit he deserves-- the man is a secret genius! We also registered for the little one last week-- we have an upcoming baby shower.. actually two... and it was interesting to learn that we were both highly opinionated when it came to how she would be dressed and what she would sleep in. My thought was--- if she's half me (and she is... refer to the roundhouse kicking in the post below)--- she's not going to want a lot of pink. Forgive me for thinking she (like me) doesn't want to be dressed like or put in a room that could be used on the set of a pepto-bismol commercial. Andy however, thinks that little girls are supposed to be pink... so after a little discussion-- we decided we could combine colors. So I'm going to go ahead and get the green and brown bed set--- and put a little pink sticker on her crib and call it good. Best of both worlds. And now you know how our marriage works :)

This week we're trying to get last minute Christmas things put together before the actual Christmas day. We're both working the next couple of days---and then we head out to his parents house on Christmas night--- it's nice because we will be able to spend our first Christmas morning (and last one alone) together.

Other than that.... it's been pretty routine.... we're focusing a lot more on Christmas festivities-- and it's definitely put us in the Christmas spirit... refer to the blog above for one example :)

Ever Expanding Everything!

Andy's Side Profile at 4 1/2 Months
My Side Profile at 4 1/2 Months

I am officially half-way through my pregnancy(okay well now I'm two days past the half-way mark... and if you consider that the Ultra-Sound Tech said we should move up my due date a week because of how large the baby is measuring... emphasis on baby not me...even though I am...technically I could be a week and two days past the half-way mark)!
I can't believe how fast the weeks are flying by now. The first three months seemed to drag on, and now every week seems to fly. I don't really know if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but I'll take it! So with that being said, and after a lot of, not necessarily nagging, but encouragement from my friend Elise, I decided to update and let the world know (or at least a select few in the world unless there are others who I don't know that are looking at my blog...your lives must be exciting if you feel the need to read this)-- that the baby and I are growing along just fine. Except that leaves me not looking fine... but it's for a good cause.
We also found out last Tuesday that we are having a baby girl-- and could not be more excited! She moves a ton, and Andy has already felt her... it is probably one of the most amazing things I've ever experienced, and it's fun knowing she's there, especially when she round-house kicks me in the middle of Relief Society. So what if people in my new ward think I have involuntary spasms... I'll take any sympathy I can get :)
The majority of our time is spent thinking and talking and planning for when she arrives, so we continue to work and go to school... and I still spend money... now it's just on her. We are getting excited for Thanksgiving as well--- I fly out in a week from Saturday and Andy flies out the following Monday to spend it with my family. It's been about six months since I've seen some of my family members and with a new niece that I get to meet--- I'm really looking forward to this trip (let's face it... I'm also looking forward to not working and all the food that will be consumed... making me less fine... and helping the "Expansion Project".... multi-tasking was always one of my stronger suits!)

Sleepless Nights...

We sort of fit like this is, in the old bed....

So, I'm officially three months along, and loving the wonder that is my body. Okay not so much. I understand there are certain adjustments to be made when a baby comes... but six months in advance?! This certain adjustment happens to be sleep, or the lack thereof. I was never a boy scout, so I don't understand the whole "Be Prepared" thing, but I feel that it was not in reference to pregnant mothers being prepared to not get sleep six months before the baby comes. Then again, as I said before, I never was a boy scout...so who knows!
We finally got a new mattress...which we thought may help remedy the problem (our last one was big enough for one person...but we managed to squeeze two onto it...we could only handle so many elbows to the eyes before we decided to do something about it)...but last night, was another sleepless night, and Andy found me in the comforts of the old, teeny bed this morning when he got up. Apparently we didn't need a bigger bed...we just needed a separate bed :) I was informed however, that will not be happening again. He really does love me!

Three months and going strong...

er than Sarah and Jason :) So sometimes people celebrate the same event in different ways: Example: we just celebrated our three month anniversary on Sunday... one of the better days of my life. My friend Sarah just celebrated her three month anniversary on Saturday.... one of the not so better days of her life.... hmmm....weird.
